Benefit for Burque Noir withe LIVE Music!

Please join us in celebration of Black History Month on Friday, February 23rd! We’ll have live music from Kimochii ii (كريستوفر رودريجيز), poetry with Ebony Isis Booth, performances, delicious food, and plenty of amazing dancing! Bring your dance shoes, invite your friends, and help us raise funds for an amazing and important organization: Burque Noir.

About Burque Noir:
Burque Noir produces a brilliant multi-media experience of arts and entertainment as delivered by a vast array of Black artists and performers in Albuquerque, NM on one night.

Ours is a gathering of intersectional community members who come to engage hearts, minds, and senses in celebration and revelry for Black people.

Blues lesson starts at 8:15PM
Dancing starts at *9PM*!

COST:
Lesson: 5
Dance with Live Music: sliding scale of $10-$20 (if you can afford more than $10, please feel free to donate extra)

DISCOUNT: Want to save more money? Volunteer! We are always looking for motivated and community-minded individuals to join our team! Not only do you get to help build your Blues dance scene, but you also get the lesson and dance for FREE. Contact John!

Exact change is very helpful. We also accept credit cards!

No partner necessary, all ages welcome
Wear comfortable shoes (we recommend smooth soles)

NOTE: Please bring dance shoes to your Blues dance. If you do not have dance shoes, please use the brush under the benches and remove the tiny rocks and other grit from your shoes when you walk in. Please ask me if you need sources for dance shoes! You can also dance in socks or barefoot as well 🙂 thank you!
